Here’s why your plan sucks. ⤵️ – Whether it’s a business plan or fitness plan — really any type of plan — there are 3 common critical flaws… ❌❌❌ – 1. You’ve really thought it through (and that’s it). How many publicly traded companies run strategies that exist nowhere but the ether? How many rely on strategies and tactics that don’t take written P&L and cash flow projections? How many Olympic athletes don’t have clearly written programming? Write they ???? down! Magic happens when you put words on a page. – 2. You’re more optimistic than a dieter on New Year’s Day. No need to be pessimistic, but consider best case scenarios a gift — not given. Plan for the worst, hope for the best, and know you’ll likely end up somewhere in the middle. Not recognizing worst case scenarios will leave you realizing that Sh*t Creek sucks, sucks worse without a paddle, and even worse when you don’t have a map to navigate out. ???? – 3. You have absolutely no way to reliably measure it. Are we profitable? Is that profit cash? (Oh waitttt…there’s a difference?) And sometimes measurement systems are highly flawed — remember when you just started lifting and your squat nearly doubled each month, so by now you should be squatting 10,000lbs or more? Exactly. The key is *reliably* measuring. ???? – Yes, planning can be more boring than watching someone read their PowerPoint slides word for word…but the results can be exciting AF! ????????????

We’re wired to ask what’s wrong, seek what’s wrong, and identify what’s wrong. It’s a primal survival skill.

The problem is that it’s also the greatest threat to survival when it goes sideways.

When people are in the throes of #depression it’s their entire focus.

When #suicide becomes the answer, as it alarmingly grows as the 2nd leading cause of death for men under 50, it’s all they see.

Implications? Start a #gratitude practice. NOW.

Don’t wait until you need medical help for depression or suicidal ideation. Even if everything is peachy, this will only enhance your life.

It’s easy: Just ask yourself “What’s right?”

Your immediate thoughts may reject the presupposition of this question and say nothing…and that’s when you keep asking.

Something is right. Something is good. Someone loves you. I promise.

I’m a momma’s boy — and proud to be! Here’s why… – My mom literally saved my life 3 times: * 1. Once when I was choking to death when I was about 5 years old. She didn’t panic, turned my little body upside down, and then removed the obstruction with her finger! * 2. When I was 14 I had a tumor that damn near killed me. And the worst part was the first “expert” surgeon would have made me bleed out on the operating table because he was unqualified to do the surgery. My mom didn’t trust him, so got a second opinion that SAVED MY LIFE! * 3. When I was in my late-teens and very early 20’s I struggled through depression and substance abuse. Nearly everyone had given up on me or wanted me to at least “get serious” on my own. Not my mom! She was there to relentlessly support me, unlike any other person on earth. – This is why I talk to my mom nearly EVERY DAY, sometimes TWICE. Think that’s lame? Don’t care! Proud to be a momma’s boy to this incredible woman and celebrate her giving me life….over and over and over on this #MothersDay ???????????? – And thanks to all the Moms out there who support their pains in the ass like me! ????????

See the dude in this picture? Here’s something kind of cool… He was in my @sbagov mentorship group a year ago at this time. – Working together, we took his company from $500,000 in annual revenues to $3,000,000 in one year. Yes, you read that correctly — 6x the top line! – I am not sharing this to boast; hell — maybe he would’ve done it without me anyway. I’m sharing this because outside eyes — a coach, mentor, guide, etc. — are invaluable in just about every aspect of life, and in nearly every arena, from sports to business to whatever journey you may be on. – It’s #mentalhealthawareness month, and I’d say that typically men are siloed creatures. Even more so when they are also #entrepreneurs. This can be a deadly combo. – Financial stress + isolation can quickly push someone over the edge. (Why #suicide is a top killer of men under 50.) – Men need to stop siloing themselves and need to get comfortable talking, sharing, and leaning on others as needed. – The upside of all that is not only a healthier mental state but maybe even a business that grows 6x in a year! – #Repost @jeff.halevy ・・・ Excited for my new semester of small business mentorship with my @sbagov mentees! — This program is FREE if you have a female or minority-owned business (M/WBE). Weak hamstrings? Do you suck at glute ham raises (GHRs)? – You’re not alone. – Even @halevylife’s well-muscled answer to a young Rob Lowe, @andrewmalkiel.fit, who posts multi-bodyweight squat numbers couldn’t crank out more than a single set of a few. (And yes, he’s single, ladies….probably because of his weak hamstrings! ????????????) – One of the fastest ways to improve your GHRs is to just get gravity working for you: pop a couple of plates under the front to elevate the GHT. Soon you’ll be repping harder than an Herbalife seller on IG. ???? – But seriously, it is important to address these weak links, because otherwise another body part picks up the slack (in Andrew’s case, his back), and that’s a fast track to Snap City. – Hit me with a comment below if you’re going to try these out and I’m happy to review your video of them and give you pointers — or a set and rep scheme to bump up your GHR game.
